On
October 30th 2pm, with full excitement, four of the YG members met
in front of the red periscope in Shinchon. We were all seeking for a meaningful
experience and new friends, so waiting for the terminal bus quite a long was
not a problem.
After 2 hours of bus, we arrived at Gangwha and went into a grocery
shopping in Plusmart to prepare for our barbeque and the snack party. We had a
budget of 100,000\, so we could buy a lot of snacks and food. The half of our
food was for the barbeque, especially for Ssam(쌈), and we
didn’t forget to prepare our alcohol.
Around 6pm, we finally arrived at the glamping
site. We were chatting, talking, and already enjoying our trip. There were already
many people in Aronium. We briefly finished our check-in. Our tent was giant, and
there was a floor heat, so no worries for being cold. We went to the barbeque site
after unpacking our bags, since we were ravenous at that point.
Our dinner was really successful; two
packs of pork was more than enough for all of us, and the grilled mushrooms, onion,
and kimchi were all delicious. We talked about our travel experience, different
high school cultures and some favorite things to do.
We were too full to eat ramen
and sausage, but we still had a space for s’mores. Grilled marshmallow and chocolate
were squeezed between biscuits. Although we couldn’t find big white marshmallow
and typical biscuits, we could find some alternative ingredients and it was delicious.
Sweet potatoes were also grilled between the burning charcoals.
After having so much fun in the barbeque
site, we went back into our tent. The floor was warm, so we lied down, chatting
and playing games. We played a mini card game called Hali Gali and learned Korean
alcohol games together. It was interesting to hear how the alcohol games in the
States are different.
Soon, we emptied up of all our drinks,
and since it was a Halloween eve, we watched a horror movie, Coraline. This movie
was my childhood nightmare, but it was just fun to watch after growing up. Before
going to bed, we shared and listened to bunch of our favorite music videos.
The next day, we slept until 10am, packed our bags,
and went back to Shinchon. It had been only about 24 hours, but we all had so much
fun and became friends to each other. Hope we stay in touch and hang out again!
