On May 17th, on a rainy day, we met in front of Yonsei University’s entrance at 1:30 pm. We had four YG members and two exchange students, so we split ourselves into two teams while taking a look around Gyeoungbokgung, National Museum of Contemporary History, and also while having dinner. After a brief self-introduction on campus, we took a bus to Gyeongbokgung palace, and it just took about 30 minutes.
We were originally supposed to go to a Hanbok rental shop to try on Hanbok, Korean traditional costumes, before going on a tour. However, because of the weather, we just had to go on a palace tour without Hanbok on. We took a short tour around Gyeongbokgung palace, and the scenery looked so beautiful and mysterious at the same time because of the foggy weather.
After taking a short tour there, we went to the National Museum of Contemporary History instead of spending a lot of time at Gyeongbokgung palace with Hanbok on. The exhibition featured a panorama of the contemporary history of Korea with various digital materials having a lot of interesting documents, photographs, digital audio, and oral image recordings. After the museum tour, we headed to Gwanghwamun D Tower to have dinner and had a great time there.
