There was a place that audiences could have a direct experience in the real space of torture. One of the Yonsei Global student tried it once. After the challenge, the student said, “That was awesome. I felt a difficulty in breathing. I thought there were many people got pain in that times.”
There was the replay of the Japanese police overseeing entire places of prison. The emotion of the policeman is impressive.
When we took time seeing the inner of the Prison, the time was 5:00 pm. When we got out of the place, there was a third section named ‘Military Training Ground’. That was the place where police gave a physical training to prisoners by force. The structure of the playground seems unusual like a maze. The reason of the strange structure was for the easy surveillance of prisoners.
Eventually, the trip of the Seodaemun Prison came to the over at 5:30 pm. To be specific, our tour route consisted of the‘Big Taegeukgi’ àSeodaemun Prison Historical Museum à Replay of Seodaemun Prison à Military Training Ground.
After the Prison tour, the members decided to go YoungCheon traditional market place, nearest place around here. We went there by foot for ten minutes. At the market, we decided to have a free individual tour to have some time on our own. Memberstook favorite food. One of the goodies members grabbed was Deep-fried Sugar Glazed Sweet Potato Wedges. Evidently the flavor was very tasty……
The program ended around 6:40pm as we finished eating the food. Everyone might have been exhausted because of the long-time jogging-trip, however, it was a good time for knowing Korea identity through experiencing the historic places. Furthermore, it was meaningful that a bond of sympathy developed between members of the group in end of the program with Korean culture. Finally, all members took a final shot at the waiting bus stop to go Sinchon.
