The 1st KCE(Korean Culture Experience) of this semester took place on March 25th. 9 exchange students and 5 YG members participated in this program. We met at Yonsei University’s main entrance at 12:30 pm and took the bus to ‘Moon Guesthouse’ to make Kimchi. Before we started making kimchi, we heard some facts about Han-oks(Korean traditional housing) and Kimchi from the host. Then we started making kimchi. Everyone was very good at making kimchi and got to take the kimchi they made home! After we finished, we had makgeolli(korean traditional drink) with kimchi, pajeon(green onion pancake), and fruits.
Next, we took the subway to Gyeongbok Palace to try on Hanboks and see the palace. We got to choose from many different patterns and colors of hanboks. It was amazing to be able to pick from a lot of beautiful kinds of hanboks and everyone looked beautiful and handsome in the hanboks they picked!! Wearing hanboks, we strolled around Gyeongbok Palace and took lots of pictures.
We only had about an hour to see Gyeongbok Palace because the palace closed at 5 pm, so we weren’t able to see the entire palace. That part was too bad, but the weather was great and everyone had a great day!
