On June 11th 2022, 3 members of Yonsei Global and 3 exchange students gathered in front of the Sinchon campus to visit the Gyeongbokgung Palace. We met in the noon to have lunch before heading to Gyeongbokgung station. After having a wonderful meal of sujebi and kimbop in Sinchon, we changed into hanbok, a Korean traditional clothing, and walked to the palace.
Gyeongbokgung palace was extraordinary with its beautiful structure and scenery. We were also in time for the marching show, where people dressed in executive uniforms marched into the palace and played Korean traditional instruments. We enjoyed the show for a while and took pictures.
After the show, we took a long walk around the place. We admired the main palace and the throne, but also had a nice time looking around the scenery and enjoying the summer breeze. We had fun taking pictures of each other in hanbok and getting to know each other over a cup of coffee.
The walk around Gyeongbokgung Palace was not only a great opportunity to explore Korean historical sites and traditional clothing, but also to meet new friends. We had a delightful time talking about our interests and getting to know each other. We wish to meet again soon.
